Fallas and innovation: tradition is reinvented

Fallas of Valencia represent, at their core, a permanent process of continuous improvement: every year they are created, perfected and burned to the ground … only to start again. A perfect metaphor for innovation. Because innovating also means daring to leave behind what no longer works, celebrating what has been achieved, and starting fresh with renewed energy. This is how we at Fundación Valenciaport and Opentop experience these festivities: not only as a Valencian tradition we are deeply proud of, but as a moment of community and connection.

This year, we lived Fallas 2026 to the fullest, linking the Valencian spirit with the innovation ecosystem we build every day.

We kicked off at the Logistics Festival organised by Diario del Puerto, one of the most important gathering points for the port-logistics community; a space where the industry celebrates, reflects and looks to the future. And as a special highlight, one of our paellas took home an award!

Next came the mascletà of the Valencian entrepreneurial ecosystem - that moment when the gunpowder smells of startups, of projects bursting with energy, and of the vitality of an innovative community that keeps growing stronger in our city.

We closed the celebrations with the Fundación Valenciaport team xocolatà, shared together with Marina Ports Valencia. A team moment where the warmth of tradition blends with the pride of belonging to an organisation that always looks forward.

Now, in true Fallas spirit, it is time for the most Valencian thing of all: the Fallas of 2026 have burned… and we are already thinking about 2027.
