Valenciaport hosts the 12th Port Innovators Network PINsight

On 26 February, Opentop, Valenciaport's open innovation hub, organised the 12th edition of PINsight, the monthly hybrid event of the Port Innovators Network (PIN). With 60 registered participants and remote connections from 10 port innovation hubs, the session confirmed PIN as a leading international network in the port and logistics innovation sector.

The event, held at the headquarters of the Valencia Port Authority, brought together members of the Valenciaport Port Community in person and, remotely, representatives from hubs in Halifax (Canada), Hamburg (Germany), Bahía Blanca (Argentina), Tyne (United Kingdom), San Diego (USA), Vienna (Austria), Esbjerg (Denmark) and New Bedford (USA).

Jorge Marcos, Head of Opentop, opened the session by presenting the activities of the PIN network and the hub, before introducing the guest speakers.

The first presentation was delivered by Sebastián de Prado García, from The Ocean Race, who shared the organisation's scientific projects and the broadcasting technologies developed for extreme sailing conditions. He was followed by Antonio Cuenca, co-founder of Cooling Photonics, who presented CoolPly: a passive cooling system based on thermal radiation that cools surfaces with no energy consumption and no moving parts, with direct applications in improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions and extending the lifespan of equipment in port, transport and industrial environments.

The session closed with a debate among participants and an in-person networking session at the Valenciaport building.
