New season of OpenTalks: more episodes sharing open innovation in the port and logistics sector

New OpenTalks episodes

After 20 published episodes, OpenTalks presents a new season with the same purpose it was born with: bringing to society the innovation being developed and driven by the Valenciaport port ecosystem. Over the course of this semester, nine new episodes will be released, featuring more than 30 representatives from the port community and the innovation ecosystem.

The format keeps its essence: engaging, rigorous conversations in which startups and entrepreneurs talk with port authorities, corporations, institutions and experts about current issues and the real challenges facing the sector.

This season’s topics

The new episodes address some of the most relevant issues for the evolution of ports and logistics:

• Innovation and digitalisation of port terminals, key to gaining efficiency and competitiveness in an increasingly demanding global environment.
• Funding and investment in port startups, with the perspectives of both those who invest and those who build businesses in a highly complex sector.
• Wave energy, one of the frontiers of marine renewable energy, with the potential to turn the power of the waves into a source of clean energy.
• The Valenciaport Hackathon, as a space where talent takes on real challenges set by the port community.
• Open innovation hubs, and their role as a bridge between emerging technology and the needs of organisations.
• The challenges facing international ports and port resilience, in a context shaped by the energy transition, digitalisation and the geopolitical situation.

These conversations make it possible to compare approaches, share lessons learned and see that the sector’s challenges (decarbonisation, digitalisation, talent attraction and resilience) are shared by ports around the world.

How to follow the new season

New episodes will be published every two weeks on Opentop’s YouTube channel, in Spanish with English subtitles, making the content accessible to an international audience as well. Episodes can also be followed on @Opentop_hub’s LinkedIn and Instagram profiles.

The start of this new season is also the perfect opportunity to discover, or rewatch, the 20 episodes already published. In them, key players from the port ecosystem have explored topics such as automation, autonomous vehicles, marina sustainability, digital twins, cybersecurity and the blue economy.
